Welcome to the Clinical Leadership Programme in Australia™ Website. 

The  Clinical Leadership Programme® is designed, developed and supported by the Royal College of Nursing of the United Kingdom.  It is a  a two tiered professional development program for health care professionals. The Programme focuses on the development of professionals functioning at the operational aspects of health care and the development of professionals functioning at the implementation and delivery aspect of health care.

The vision for the Clinical Leadership Programme in Australia™ is to achieve optimised person  centred care with health care professionals as the agent of change in this care. The focus is on the health care professional to:

  • Identify areas for improvement in practice and plan actions accordingly
  • Implement and sustain safe quality practice resulting in greater health-care benefits for people
  • Develop person centred leadership strategies to deal with the realities of day to day practice
  • Develop personally and professionally in order to enhance the quality of person care
  • Contribute to the specific State or Territory’s health reform agendas
  • Contribute to the National health reform agendas.1
